Staff at the Maleny branch of the A.N.Z. Bank thought they had seen everything when a white holden sedan approached the bank auto teller machine in Maple Street on Tuesday as if it was about to make a withdrawal.
The vehicle, owned by a well-known Maleny couple had been parked in Maple Street whilst the couple did their shopping. For some unexplained reason the previously parked car rolled away from its parked area and rolled down Maple Street and mounted the footpath coming to rest against the front wall of the Maleny A.N.Z Bank near the bank auto-teller machine.
On returning to where the car had been parked the bewildered couple found their car missing.
By the time the car owners found their wayward car local Police Sergeant, Gary Ricks had already taken the car into custody.
The well-known local couple sheepishly claimed their vehicle from its resting place.
Unfortunately, the couple were unable to remember which of them actually parked the vehicle.
Luckily, no-one was injured in the incident and the car has been allowed back into the protective custody of the embarrassed couple. |
