Stakeholders
and interested local residents are being invited to contribute to the
creation of art, community and heritage precinct in Landsborough.
Caloundra City mayor Don Aldous said the public input was being sought
in order to establish a vision and strategic direction for a new art,
community and heritage precinct to the south of Landsborough Town
Centre.
“ As part of this process, we are keen to identify functions and activities the local community consider important to be established within the precinct area,” Cr. Aldous said.
The precinct area includes both council and community owned land managed land to the south of Landsborough Town Centre and bounded by Maleny Street, Old Landsborough Road and Mellum Creek.
Divisional councillor Dell Winkler encouraged local residents to have input into what they considered important elements of the development of a cultural precinct. “ The precinct provides the opportunity to establish synergies between the Landsborough Museum, community facilities, walking trails, open space and other potential related activities,” Cr. Winkler said.
Cr Winkler said council will explore the establishment of important linkages with other key sites in Landsborough through the planning process.
Reply paid feedback forms are available for council’s Customer Service Centre on 5420 8200. Forms must be received by Friday, October 26.
