| friendship, enjoyment of our
vehicles and social outings and looks forward to an exciting year. The
Horseless Carriage Club held its Christmas party at Ken & Wendy
Lonie’s home and shared a bountiful feast and great camaraderie on
Sunday. This was despite the inclement weather and the “welcomed” wet
conditions. Michael Simpson tinkled the ivories expertly with
renditions of Christmas carols and the club song with 35 Members
enthusiastically adding the vocals.
“We acknowledge that we are
not of Australian Idol standards at this stage,’’ said Dr Simpson.
Jenny Boyd of Mapleton took out the honours of the longest strip of
“tearing of the mintie paper” competition and Dr Simpson won the joke
forum with Dennis Doble winning second place in a field of 13
contestants.
The Club’s rally program for 2007 is in print and
offers a great variety of monthly Sunday drives around our beautiful
region. There are also several mid week rallies to cater for members
who cannot make the weekends, as well as weekend rallies and a monthly
breakfast at Pennyfarthings at Flaxton.
The Club wishes Range News readers a wonderful Christmas and a terrific 2007. May you all travel safely in this festive season.
