IN THIS age of fast food and materialism it’s nice to see some links to the past are not only surviving, but thriving. So it is with quilting. And no group keeps quilting more alive than the Conondale Quilters. The 22nd annual Conondale Quilt Show will be held on October 7 and 8 from 9am to 3.30pm.
In true country spirit a greater proportion of the proceeds this year will go towards helping Kerry-Lee Spencer who is battling cancer.
As Conondale and the Quilters lost their dear friend Mary Fleiter last year from cancer this is a cause close to everyone’s hearts.
This year there will be a prize, donated by Maleny Drapery, for the best quilt.
Maleny Drapery owner Meg Hyde has organised this in memory of Mary. Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea will be available at a reasonable cost.
This year there will be a beautiful Dresden Plate quilt made up in oriental fabrics raffled.
There will also be a multidraw raffle of various projects made by members.
