MEGS gets ready for Cup extravaganza
Written by Administrator

THE red light is flashing as enthusiastic members of the recently reformed Maleny Equestrian Group (MEGs) get ready to hold their first official fundraising function at Tranquil Park on Melbourne Cup Day.

Champagne and beer will be flowing freely and nosebags will have to be strapped on at the lavish knees up, the centrepiece of which will be a luscious smorgasbord and seafood extravaganza.

Be sure to join the Maleny Equestrian Group girls at Tranquil Park on Melbourne Cup day.

Keen punters will also have
an opportunity to secure their preferred mount for the race that stops the nation by pinning their ears back and bidding with gusto during the Calcutta.

There will also be a fashion
parade with apparel supplied by Black Sheep Booteek, a relatively new face in town. Watch The Range News for further details.   It certainly won’t be your ordinary fashion parade.   Some eclectic entertainment will fill any lulls in the action while the ladies strut their stuff and do battle for the prize on offer for the best hat.   MEGs publicity officer Helen McMahon said a number of sweeps would also be held on the day.

“Tranquil Parks’ newly refurbished
restaurant and bar, coupled with the stunning views and ambience, provide the ideal venue for what we hope will become our main annual fund-raising event,’’   Helen said. “We chose Melbourne Cup Day for the simple reason that horses are at the epicentre of our lives, regardless of which equestrian discipline we favour.”

Tickets, which cost $60,
includes a complimentary glass of champagne on arrival and provide MEGs with a $10 donation. Melbourne Cup action at Tranquil Park on Tuesday, November 7 starts at 11am and a shuttle bus service will run local guests back to their homes as required.

For more information visit www.tranquilpark.com.au or phone Helen on 5494 3810 or Isabel on 5494 3349.
