State Member for Glasshouse Carolyn Male MP welcomed funding of $1500
for activities celebrating Seniors Week 2005 in Maleny and Caboolture.
Carolyn Male said the Maleny Arts Council received $1000 to conduct a function in Seniors Week titled Katherine Hepburn Film Retrospective for senior citizens and high school students of Hinterland and railway corridor towns.
Seniors Week will be celebrated from August 20 to 28 August. ?The aim is to encourage everyone to have positive attitudes towards older people and it?s fantastic to see these organisations being assisted to hold events that will do that,? she said.
?These activities help to promote positive attitudes towards ageing, a process that all of us go through.?
