La n d s b o r o u g h - b a s e d business TSS Construction has been
awarded a $789,344 Federal Government grant to further develop their
innovative waste oil recycling process, Federal Member for Longman Mal
Brough said this week.

| Alan Lear from TSS Construction, which has just received a federal grant to develop their waste oil recycling unit.
| TSS Construction would receive the dollar for dollar grant for their oil and diesel fuel blending unit as part of a national Commercial Ready funding round worth $4.7 million for seven projects across the country.
"The TSS Construction project represents a novel approach to dealing with the huge stockpile of waste oil currently stored throughout Australia," Mr Brough said.
"With the help of the Commercial Ready grant, the company will now develop a mobile unit to blend refined waste oil in remote communities with diesel fuel, enabling the waste oil to be recycled in motor vehicles and other diesel machinery."
The process refines waste engine and cooking oil which is then blended with diesel fuel to produce a low sulphur level fuel, which allows users to save on their diesel costs as well as the expense of removing waste oil, which currently costs from $1.60 to $2 per litre to dispose of in many remote communities.
TSS Construction are already market leaders with their Transportable Shade Shed range and have supplied over 350 environmental waste storage and evacuation units to local government's throughout Australia.
"This is a project with significant environmental and export potential and I am proud that a local company has developed such an innovative approach to dealing with the significant problem of waste oil stockpiles," Mr Brough said.
