The age of customer service could be said to be a dying era amid the
hectic pace of modern life and the current trend in automating
everything you know, when it takes you twenty minutes to navigate
your way to a live operator via your electronic banking system to then
be put on hold. How I love progress!

| | Zeke Steindl, 100 percent a customer service hero! | But here in Maleny, an area renowned for a slightly more laid back, tranquil lifestyle, it is still alive and well, thanks to Zeke Steindl, Retail Manger at the Maleny Amcal Chemist on Maple Street.
Zeke has just scored 100% in a Mystery Shopper initiative by the country's largest pharmacy retailer during which Amcal representatives anonymously pose as shoppers, to test staff on key customer service goals. "I had no idea who it was," said Zeke. "But if you do the same thing with all your customers then you shouldn't have to worry."
As far as we know, this is the first time an individual has scored the top mark in a competition which rates a staff member's performance in presentation, approach, manner and establishing a client's needs to name but a few. Now that's pretty good, considering Amcal has over 400 outlets nationwide.
