Beerwah trainees win Acclaim awards |

Beerwah High School's vocation education and training programs? value
and success was highlighted recently at the Acclaim Apprentices and
Trainees Annual Awards Evening. Groundsman Jacob Schild won the award
for Trainee of the Year. Jacob is completing a Certificate III in
Horticulture, Parks and Gardens.
Administration Officer Alana Henderson was a finalist in this category and was awarded an Advanced Training Award. Year 12 student Elyse Wohling has completed a school-based traineeship in the main office at Beerwah High and was recognised with a school-based Outstanding Achievement Award. School captain Rhiannan Kilkenny was also a recipient of an Outstanding Achievement Award for a school-based traineeship. Rhiannan has completed a Certificate II in Business at the Beerwah RSL Club.
Four other Beerwah High students were recognised with Outstanding Achievement Awards. These students are all in year 11 and are part way through their traineeship - Daryl Reardon and Katie Morris are both employed at Aussie World, Jenny Lunt at the Beerwah Library and Wendy Schunemann at the Auscare Pharmacy Glass House Mountains. Past students Greg McLaughlin and Shayne Dragon were also finalists for the Trainee of the Year. Greg and Shayne were both Beerwah High Trade Skills Acquisition Program graduates.
Principal Boyd Jorgensen said: "Acclaim has over 500 trainees and apprentices and to have 10 employees, students and past students recognised as finalists at their annual training awards, is a tribute to the quality of the training programs".
