Did you know that Whilst Scouting
commenced in Queensland as early as 1908, it was initially part of the
Boy Scout Association incorporated by King George V in his Royal
Charter dated 4 January 1912.
A number of changes have occurred since then and on 23 August 1967, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II incorporated The Australian Boy Scouts Association to what is known as “The Scout Association of Australia”. The Queensland Branch was declared the first Branch of that Association.

Until recent years most young males in Queensland have had some association with the Scouting organisation during that time.
The Maleny Scout Group will be celebrating their 88th Birthday on 25th May at the Maleny Historical Society site. The day will start at approx 10am with opening parade, activities, lunch and closing parade. The celebration will finish approx 2pm Past members of Maleny Scout Group, other VIPs plus the Chief Commissioner for QLD Scouting will be attending. This day will be a great day for all the oldies to catch up with one another and talk about old times. The Historical Society will be running the BBQ lunch on the day for Maleny Scouts. The youth members will be displaying their skills through various activities on the day. |
