Maleny Commerce, formerly known
as The Maleny Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a very successful
"Hinterland Connects" networking evening at the Maleny R.S.L. Hall on
Tuesday August 12th. The evening was sponsored by Maleny Commerce,
Caloundra City Enterprises and VESTRA Business Advantage.
The evening started at about 4.30p.m. with a workshop on "networking" followed by a general networking meeting between 5.30p.m. and 7.30p.m.
About 80 people attended and were rewarded with the chance to meet other business people who want to conduct in the Maleny Community.
Maleny Commerce President, Stephen Dittman of the Maleny Branch of the Bank of Queensland said, "This evening is a co-ordinated effort by the various Sunshine Coast Chambers."
A large number of those attending came from businesses that operate from the coastal area of the Sunshine Coast but who want to do business in the hinterland area. Whilst there was a number of business proprietors of Maleny businesses many local businesses missed out on the opportunity to seek business with local people.
This is an opportunity for businesses to create more connections with people who also want to supply goods and services to hinterland residents. By working together businesses can generate extra business with very little further effort. Business proprietors from the coastal section realise the benefit of these evenings and thought that the effort to travel to Maleny to attend was worth the effort. With times getting a little tougher for businesses then Maleny business operators should not miss out to those businesses from the coast.
The next "Hinterland Connects" event will be on Tuesday November 4th at 5.30p.m. at the Maleny R.S.L. Hall. Bookings are essential. Further information will be available through the Maleny Commerce website: www.malenycommerce.org.au
