With Mix FM’s Give Me 5 for Kids
appeal kicking off this week we have already seen huge community
support. Monies are coming in along and events being created to help
make 2008 the most successful year yet.
The Sunshine Coast Health Foundation is holding a golf day at Horton Park tomorrow and the Maroochy Swann Bowls Club is holding a bare foot bowls day on Sunday 8th and all monies raised is going to Give me 5 for kids.
The Health Foundation directs the $1.2 million plus proceeds of the local appeal held each year by local radio station 92.7Mix FM towards the purchase of kid’s medical equipment at Nambour Hospital.
Foundation Marketing and Fundraising Coordinator Lisa Robbie said “Each year the community rallies to give around $200,000 to this appeal because we all know it benefits our kids and touches us all in some way. The difference the community has made to paediatric care on the coast is outstanding. Places like the Horton Golf Club and Swann Bowl’s club make it fun to raise the money whilst supporting the appeal”, she said.
Come along and join in the fun, everyone’s welcome.
