A must for art lovers and collectors, the Arts Spectacular exhibition
and art sale will take place at the Eumundi School of Arts this Easter
– from Thursday 20 March until Monday 24 March.
Now in its third year, the Arts Spectacular showcases the work of artists and sculptors from across the Sunshine Coast and raises funds for Arts for Community – an organisation dedicated to funding arts projects for people with disabilities on the Sunshine Coast. Arts Spectacular Coordinator and founder Bernadette Welch says she has received many entries for this year’s Arts Spectacular, with a cross-section of work including jewellery, sculpture, woodwork, fine art and craft. “There will be more than one hundred artists exhibiting this year, including esteemed professional artists Ellie Neilsen, Helen Lawson and Scott Goddard, all of whom entered the recent Archibald Prize,” Bernadette says. These Archibald entries will be featured in the Arts Spectacular, along with a number of entries from this year’s Sulman and Wynne Prize. “The calibre of work this year is again of a very high standard, and it really is a privilege to be able to bring such a wonderful collection of local artists together,” she says. “Our dream a few years ago has really come to fruition – it’s a celebration of art and artists collaborating together to raise money to support and inspire disabled artists here on the Coast” Bernadette highlights the fact that the Arts Spectacular is very much a family friendly event. “Some of the finest and most fabulous critiques always come from the younger visitors to Arts Spectacular,” she says. The exhibition and sale will be open from 10am until 4pm each day. |
