Give Steve a fair go 16.06.04 Once again the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin is embroiled in some controversy over his swimming and playing with wildlife in Antarctica. Steve has a habit of getting into controversial situations. Maybe he does things that many of us would not do. I am sure that some of the things are done without thought whilst others are done with an eye on his own self-promotion, but I don't believe that he does these things out of malice or believing that he is above the law. Steve should not be above the law but lets be fair in our criticism of him. Steve is a very exuberant person and passionate about wildlife conservation. He is one of the today's greatest positives for wildlife conservation and as such he should be admired and thanked. I believe that he has done more than most in raising awareness of the need for wildlife conservation not only in Australia but around the world. He is also one of the greatest attractions to our Sunshine Coast area. Why is it that we want to criticism him so much? Are the criticisms relevant and positive or is it that we just want to cut down the "tall poppy"? I am sure that we all enjoy the documentaries from Steve, if not of Steve and his antics but for the relevance of the information on wildlife. Steve is unique in Australia. We do not know the full details about his latest antics.
- Let us all give him a fair go and not make rash judgements.
