MUSEUM LAUNCHES ACTION PACKED PROGRAM FOR 2008 |

A new children’s program Toyland Express will be a highlight of The Workshops Rail Museum’s 2008 program. Toyland Express, 5 – 20 April, will explore trains through toys and children’s literature. The Museum’s 2008 program will include extended school holiday programs, early childhood learning sessions and the return of some of the Museum’s most popular events.

| To meet demand, the Wizards and Witches Express and Circus Train events will be extended to a 4-week period. The Wizards and Witches Express will make a welcome return from 21 June – 20 July. The Circus Train event will be held from 13 September – 12 October School groups will continue to receive free entry to The Workshops Rail Museum. To support teachers, a series of teacher professional development workshops will be held in February, April, July and October. The Queensland Model Railway Show will be held 25 – 26 October and the Museum’s signature event, Friends of Thomas will return 26 December 2008 – 26 January 2009. Director of The Workshops Rail Museum Mr Andrew Moritz said the program was designed to ensure events would appeal to all members of the family. “We have a diverse range of fun and educational activities for toddlers to grandparents,” Mr Moritz said. “Our 2007 program was very successful and I am excited to launch what we expect will be another fantastic year.” For those wishing to enjoy all of these events, the Museum offers Annual Pass Memberships entitling the holder to unlimited entry for 12 months, free entry into other Queensland Museum campuses, the quarterly member’s magazine BIG NOISE and a 10% discount on all purchases at the Museum Shop and Trackside Café.
